Your role and responsibilities

The ABB Process Automation Data and Analytics Department provides a range of essential data, analytical, and AI services to the Process Automation divisions. To expand our service portfolio, we are seeking a leader to drive and oversee the further development of data product services. If you have a passion for working with data, leading teams, and guiding business users to leverage data and analytics to enhance business performance, we invite you to apply for this position. In this role, you will lead a team of data product owners who manage agile teams and deliver data product services to our business users. Key responsibilities: Data Strategy Development: together with PA divisions and other ABB businesses and functions, creating and implementing a comprehensive PA data strategy that aligns with the organization's business objectives. Data Governance: together with PA divisions and other ABB business and functions, establishing policies and practices to ensure PA data quality, security, and compliance with regulations. Data Management: overseeing the entire PA data lifecycle, including collection, storage, processing, analysis, and dissemination of PA data in the PA Data Warehosue and other relevant systems. Data Quality Assurance: together with PA divisions, ensuring that the PA data used across the organization are accurate, consistent, and reliable. Data Delivery: managing delivery of more than 200 data products to PA divisions, ensuring agreed data quality KPI-s and service SLA-s, to enables PA business to rely on data to drive decision-making and enhance operational efficiency. Running data products portfolio delivery governance body (Steering Committee), controlling operations with data products Operational Committees, confirming delivery plans and roadmaps, handling escalations. Driving Innovation: stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the data products. Propose enhancements to existing data products based on technological advancements. Organization management: managing 7 teams of data products delivery organization (ab. 30-40 data analysts and data engineers); managing 7 data products owners (team leaders). Recruiting and developing people to build and maintain competencies to follow the data market trends and deliver innovation. Project Management: oversee large-scale data projects from conception through implementation, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Utilize project management skills to navigate challenges associated with scaling the data solutions. Financial management: creating and delivering to budget targets agreed with divisional stakeholders (CFO-s). Suppliers’ management: procuring services from external suppliers, professional service provides and technology partners (like Microsoft). Satisfaction management: ensuring employees’ satisfaction, as well as end users satisfaction and key stakeholders satisfaction from its services portfolio.

Qualifications for the role

• In this role, you will leverage over 15 years of experience in data, analytics, and AI to deliver critical global solutions to various management levels and customers. Your strong foundation in technical and management education, ideally supported by a master’s degree, ensures your ability to navigate complex challenges in these domains.
• As a leader, you bring more than five years of high-level, global leadership experience in data, analytics, and AI. Roles such as data domain management, analytics lead, or Chief Data Officer (CDO) have honed your ability to manage and inspire diverse teams while delivering impactful results. Your proven expertise in industries like manufacturing, systems business, projects, services, and control systems further underscores your broad industrial knowledge.
• You excel in communication, demonstrating exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders in complex environments. Whether consulting with C-level executives, handling escalations, or running Steering Committees, your ability to articulate clear strategies and drive alignment is critical to your success.
• Your change management expertise, supported by methodologies like PROSCI, equips you to lead global or enterprise-level transformations in data or digitalization programs. Financially, you have managed multi-million USD budgets, demonstrating your ability to balance strategic vision with fiscal responsibility.
• In building and leading data organizations, you have a proven track record of forming high-performing global teams and fostering innovative working methods. Your experience spans Data Operations, Data Product Management, DevOps, and frameworks like SAFe®, ensuring operational excellence.
• Your technical skills include proficiency in cloud technologies such as Azure, GCP, AWS, Snowflake, and Databricks, enabling you to implement and optimize cutting-edge solutions.
• Personally, you exhibit resilience, self-control, and the ability to manage stress and pressure effectively, ensuring you lead with poise and determination in dynamic environments.
