Job description
3Brain is looking for an on-site full-time Field Application Scientist for its Italian
office located in Genova, who will join the Customer Success Department to
support customer activities by identifying approaches to solve their needs
concerning technical and experimental questions, statistical analysis of results
and cell assays protocol development. The candidate will be involved in scientific
and technical support with a particular emphasis on data analysis and ICT
aspects as well as in experimental activities. The candidate will work at the
interface between science, tech, and sales, working closely with customers, but
also will perform tests and validation on current and newcoming products, lab
activities to explore new biological models and applications, and participate to
R&D activities.
Main responsibilities:
- Develop an extensive knowledge of the 3Brain’s products and of their
applications. Keep updated state of the art in the field.
- Collect information about customer experience and provide regular follow
up to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Scientific consulting and technical support activities for our customers,
partners, and distributors worldwide via e-mail, remote phone calls, or
travel to customer sites.
- Provide remote and on-site training, and support to customers while
performing experiments on 3Brain’s systems.
- Support customer’s needs regarding technical, ICT and scientific aspects.
- Process experimental results, perform statistical analysis, prepare, and
present reports.
- Perform experimental tests with diverse cell preparations and cell models
(e.g., brain slices, cultures, spheroids, organoids) on 3Brain’s devices.
- Collaborate with the Sales, Marketing teams to align scientific support with
business goals and customer expectations.
- Support Hardware and Software team in validating and testing new
prototypes with biological models.
- Attend conferences, congress, and trade shows.
- Provide scientific contents for poster presentation,papers and scientific
material such as application notes.
Required Qualifications
- Master/PhD degree in biomedical engineering / biomedical sciences /
neurobiology.
- Knowledgeable about electrophysiological applications and tools commonly
used in in-vitro neurobiology.
- Proficiency and hands-on experience with programming and/or scripting
languages, (e.g., Python, C++).
- Experience with manipulation and analysis of high-volume biological data.
- Knowledgeable about statistical analysis tools.
- Proficient working in a Windows environment.
- Full proficiency (C1 level) or mother tongue in English.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to diverse audiences through
both written and oral communications.
- Highly motivated self-starter and problem solver.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience with either microelectrode array (MEA), calcium imaging or
patch-clamp recordings.
- Strong molecular and neuroscientific background.
- 1+ years of laboratory experience on cell-based assays for compound
screening.
