Schroder & Co Bank AG (SCOBAG) is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Formalities Control Specialist to join our Private Banking division in Zurich. The successful candidate will manage a small team, ensuring that all aspects of formalities control are executed to the highest standard, in adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the operational excellence of our Private Banking services.


Team Head Formalities Control Specialist


Key responsibilities

  • Own and oversee the account opening and the formalities control process for SCOBAG, ensuring compliance with Swiss and international regulations as well as internal policies.
  • Check account opening and change in circumstance documents for accuracy and completeness, ensure the identification of account holders and beneficial owners meets the required standards and review the due diligence clarifications (i.e. CDB, QI, FATCA, CRS, KYC, AML).
  • Manage and lead a small team of professionals, providing subject matter guidance and support, together with performance evaluations and development support.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Compliance and the Compliance team especially in the context of clients with heightened risks.
  • Act as the point of contact for the Business regarding client documentation standards, formalities control matters, addressing queries and providing clarity on processes.
  • Monitor team performance and workload, reallocating resources as necessary to meet deadlines and operational goals.
  • Support the ongoing training and development of team members to enhance skills and knowledge in formalities control processes.



Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of subject matter experience in formalities control within the Swiss private banking environment.
  • A relevant degree in finance or business administration is preferred.
  • Experience in managing a small team, demonstrating strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a thorough understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in the private banking sector.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in German and English; proficiency French is an advantage.
