We are looking for an experienced and motivated subject matter expert with specialisation in the Commodities trading sector to join our Group Internal Audit and Assurance (GIAA) function. Role Duties:

  • Provide subject matter expertise in relation to Market Conduct risk within Commodities trading.
  • Lead the efforts on the audit coverage strategy for Marketing Compliance (including market conduct and counterparty onboarding) and the Internal Control Framework, where you will act as audit liaison assigned to develop and oversee the approach for independent testing.
  • Engage with audit teams on risk identification and assurance within their respective portfolios, provide coaching and support, as well as review audit programmes and conclusions.
  • Supervise thematic/ complex audit engagements and change projects, as needed, relevant to your portfolio.
  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders to maintain proximity to business evolution, perform continuous risk monitoring and provide relevant insights in relation to emerging risks and good practices.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry developments, regulations and technical topics relevant to commodities trading and data analytics solutions to strengthen insights on risk and control.
  • Undertake relevant departmental initiatives and ad hoc business projects/ investigations as may be required.

Desired qualifications, skills and experience:

  • University degree (required) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Law or related field
  • Audit or accounting certification (e.g. ACA, CPA, CIA, CISA, CA) is expected
  • At least 10 years’ experience that includes audit/compliance within commodities trading
  • Comprehensive understanding of risks and control assessments and familiarity about the extractive industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and high documentation standards

Ideal Candidate:

  • Has advanced English verbal and written communication skills; additional languages are a benefit.
  • Has strong ability to identify and clearly articulate risks, controls, root causes and improvement opportunities.
  • Is operationally excellent and able to organise, produce high quality work within agreed deadlines.
  • Is motivated to operate as part of a global team and travel up to 25% worldwide.
  • Has analytical skills and critical thinking to collaborate with our Data Analytics function to the latest digital technology and data analytics techniques to enhance our auditing capability.
  • Holds people leadership capabilities is also a team player.
  • Holds a UK or Swiss work permit or is eligible to work in these countries.
