in Leipzig aims to uncover the molecular underpinnings of obesity and vascular disorders to develop novel clinical therapies.

The investigates how metabolic stress impacts blood vessels to promote a range of life-threatening disorders such as dementia, fatty liver, heart failure and pancreatic dysfunction. The research team is searching for an enthusiastic postdoctoral scientist (f/m/x) to lead projects uncovering metabolic mechanisms that induce vascular damage. The long-term aim of our research is to develop novel clinical strategies to reduce the risk of diseases driven by vascular dysfunction.

Your tasks

• Design and execute research projects in vascular and metabolic health
• Establish and manage collaborations within the lab and with external colleagues
• Present projects at conferences
• Opportunities for supervision and grant writing will be available to those seeking such options

Your profile

• PhD in life sciences
• At least 1 first-author paper
• Experience in cell culture and molecular biology

Desirable qualifications

• Bioinformatics knowledge (not essential)
• Good written and spoken English
