Our Sales Engineering organization is seeking a Manager, Sales Engineering to lead our highly skilled team of Sales Engineers in Switzerland.
You will work directly with our sales team and channel partners to understand the needs of our customers, strategize on how to navigate sales cycles, provide value-based demonstrations, support POCs and close business.
Reporting to the Director of Sales Engineering you will play a hands-on role of building and leading a team of sales engineers.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL GET TO:
Build and Lead a High-Performing Team: Mentor and manage a team of Sales Engineers who introduce our products to customers, lead technical evaluations, and serve as trusted advisors. Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
Drive Regional Sales Success: Partner with sales leadership to achieve regional quota targets by aligning technical strategies with business goals. Build strong relationships, identify challenges, and implement effective solutions to drive measurable results.
Provide Strategic Insights: Offer actionable guidance to revenue leaders on sales strategies and product challenges. Advocate for the SE team’s needs to executive staff, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and removing barriers to success.
Simplify Complexity: Analyze complex technical challenges and deliver simple, impactful solutions. Collaborate with internal teams, channel partners, and customers to design and execute strategies that deliver results.
Bridge Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong partnerships across product, engineering, marketing, and customer success teams. Use customer insights to influence product roadmaps and ensure seamless execution across teams.
Operationalize Success: Define and implement scalable processes and best practices that enhance team efficiency and customer outcomes. Leverage data and tools to drive consistent, impactful results.
Champion Innovation and Adaptability: Encourage the team to stay ahead of industry trends, competitive landscapes, and evolving customer needs. Foster a mindset of adaptability and continuous learning to ensure sustained excellence.
Foster a Culture of Growth and Development: Build and nurture a healthy, inclusive team culture where feedback, development, and psychological safety are central to success. Empower team members to take initiative, embrace a growth mindset, and achieve their full potential.
Drive Technical Enablement: Ensure the team is equipped with the latest product knowledge, technical skills, and tools. Partner with enablement teams to deliver impactful training and support ongoing skill development.
Foster a Customer-Centric Culture: Advocate for customer needs and feedback to continuously improve our solutions. Ensure the team delivers value-driven outcomes that meet or exceed customer expectations.
ON DAY ONE WE WILL EXPECT YOU TO HAVE:
Extensive Pre-Sales Expertise: At least 6+ years of experience in a pre-sales role, with preferably 3+ years of direct line management experience, including hiring, coaching, and retaining top talent in high-performing teams.
Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, and/or Cloud Computing, with proven experience applying this expertise to solve customer challenges.
Exceptional Communication Skills: Outstanding ability to present to technical and executive audiences alike, using whiteboards, presentations, and live demos to clearly articulate value and solutions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English are required.
Customer-Centric Problem Solving: A track record of connecting specific customer business challenges to actionable technical solutions, showcasing strategic thinking and creativity.
Leadership and Team-Building Experience: Demonstrated ability to inspire, mentor, and lead teams, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented culture that drives results.
Technical Acumen: Strong foundational knowledge in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related fields, backed by a university degree or equivalent practical experience.
Track Record of Sales Collaboration: Experience working closely with sales teams to strategize on deals, navigate complex sales cycles, and deliver measurable business outcomes.
Strategic Mindset: Ability to prioritize and align technical resources with business objectives, balancing customer needs with organizational goals.
Adaptability and Resilience: Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, embracing change and driving continuous improvement.
