Job Description
AECOM holds a significant and growing market share in the European Industrial and logistics market, working primarily with Fortune 50 clients. We are strategically growing this practice to keep pace with market demand and are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented practice leader to grow this sector across our business in Europe and India. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and experienced leader to lead a multidisciplinary team, leveraging the breadth of AECOM’s global capabilities working with our Leads in the US.
This role demands a client-focused leader who is articulate, strategic, and capable of delivering both exceptional service and business results. Success will also rely upon the leader’s ability to build upon our existing practice, identify areas of opportunity and organize our business to pursue those opportunities.
This role will report to AECOM’s European Strategic Growth lead and the country manager. It is envisaged this role will be based out of an AECOM office in the Netherlands, Germany or Italy. These locations offer vibrant business environments and access to key markets, making them ideal bases for driving success in this sector.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Develop and Execute Industrial Strategy: Within the first 3 months, establish a comprehensive industrial sector strategy for Europe and India, aligned with AECOM’s capabilities and future industry trends, with a focus on advanced manufacturing and wider market opportunities.
- Strengthen Operational Delivery: Collaborate with operational teams to refine delivery strategies, improve quality and efficiency, and oversee high-quality, timely, and profitable delivery of industrial and logistics projects, including specialty consulting services.
- Drive Business Development and Market Leadership: Identify and evaluate industrial opportunities, lead winning proposals, grow the opportunity pipeline, and expand existing client relationships in partnership with market sector leaders and client account managers.
- Foster Collaboration: Work closely with AECOM’s Global and Regional Market Sector Leaders (Primarily US, ANZ and Latin America), leveraging global capabilities, sharing resources, and creating synergies across business lines, including Architecture, Engineering, PPM, and Environment.
- Build and Develop Talent: Recruit, train, and cross-train staff to deliver industrial projects, fostering a culture of leadership, accountability, and innovation while addressing skills gaps for future market needs.
- Lead Strategic Relationships and Innovation: Maintain key client and strategic relationships, drive innovation workstreams to differentiate AECOM in the market, and provide thought leadership to address market challenges and opportunities.

Qualifications
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in building/industrial engineering, architecture, project management, or a related discipline
- Significant experience leading large-scale industrial projects and the total Design and Assurance process in Industrial Projects from concept through construction and testing and commissioning, with an understanding of different and innovative delivery methods. Preference will be given to those candidates experienced in the field of Material Flow Automation and Clean and Dry rooms.
- Licensed Professional Engineer/Architect or certified Project Manager with a strong commercial and technical background
- Proven ability to develop and manage client relationships, focusing on long-term growth and mutual success
- Experience working across multiple regions, with a deep understanding of local market trends and client needs
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and foster a collaborative environment.
