Communications Director (Media Relations)
Your Role:
As a Communications Director in our corporate press office, you will act as a senior spokesperson for the organization, and help increase our visibility as a global leader in science and technology. You will develop and implement strategic media relations initiatives that align with our business objectives and group narrative, with a particular emphasis on financial communications and significant corporate developments. You will proactively manage and build out relationships with prominent German and international media, and with key non-journalistic influencers. Collaborating closely with internal and sector communications teams, Investor Relations, Public Relations and others, you will shape and help organize communications around key events and industry trends. You will be a trusted advisor to senior management and other communications colleagues on media-related inquiries, manage issues and crises, and prepare high-quality press materials.
Who You Are:
- University graduate degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Business Administration, International Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of media relations or public relations experience in multinational corporations or leading communications firms.
- Native or near-native fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.
- Strong international background, ideally with experience living outside Germany.
- Proven track record in financial communications for internationally-active, publicly-listed companies.
- Expertise in crafting press releases, reactive statements, and interview pitches.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment and to tight deadlines.
- Experience in crisis communications and working with diverse, globally-dispersed teams.
