Job Summary

The Client Director Germany will be responsible for the delivery of revenue opportunities aligned to the approved business plans for the territory by creating, building and maintaining strong client and partner relationships. Gather intelligence on the market opportunity by sector and the competitive landscape to build a plan to market and execute revenue generating business for VIRTUS. Work with the local VIRTUS German team to evangelise and promote VIRTUS in Germany at trade and industry shows.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver revenue growth opportunities to achieve the annual business plans for the territory
  • Build a detailed knowledge of the colocation market for the territory including site locations, available capacity, pricing.
  • Understand the local market by sector with respect to producing target lists of prospects
  • Build and maintain a network of business relationships, including the executive management of prospects and other referral resources
  • Represent VIRTUS at conferences, seminars and customer/partner events; evangelising the company, its products and opportunities
  • Represent the voice of the customer when engaging in business decisions
  • Consult closely with the sales and marketing teams to ensure the product roadmap is competitive in the market

What success looks like in 12 months:

  • Delivered a pipeline of new interest for the Berlin data centres
  • Achieved set objectives aligned to business plan for Country
  • Report on the local market dynamics from a price capacity perspective
  • Identified target customer sectors that fit the VIRTUS product and develop a plan to target them
  • Presented and attended a number of public facing events

Person Specification

  • Experienced in Sales and/or business development within the data centre industry preferably with hyperscale customers
  • Experience or detailed knowledge across product management, product marketing, sales, and business development roles
  • High level of both verbal and written communication skills used to effectively communicate with top tier (preferably C-level executive) clients.
  • Strong executive presence with a track record of winning mid to large clients/business.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, good attention to detail, and ability to resolve complex issues with high level of ambiguity
  • Used to a matrix management structure and remote working
