Die BAM ist eine wissenschaftlich-technische Bundesoberbehörde im Geschäftsbereich des Bundesministeriums für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz. Student Assistant (Studentische Hilfskraft) in the field of physical engineering, mechanical engineering or comparable

Working field:

— Assistance in the preparation and execution of experiments in the
high-power laser beam welding
— Pre-processing of the training data, including high-speed video
and X-ray images
— Development of an ML model for the prediction of porosity defect
— Literature research on current topics in welding technology

Requirements:

— Study experience of several semesters in the fields of Physical Engineering, Mechanical
Engineering, Material science or comparable. Very good basic knowledge in fluid mechanics or
machine learning will be a plus.
— Experiences in simulation and Programming skills (C language, Python, Fortran) are an advantage.
