Background:
Haleon Nyon (Ex GSK) site is responsible for the production of some of the company’s healthcare products, such as the Voltaren, Fenistil, Otrivin and many others. Our production lines are divided into primary, secondary and tertiary zones. These represent the degree of proximity to the product’s active chemicals. As a rule of thumb, the production goes from the primary to the tertiary zones. Our filling and packing lines speed start from 70u/min to 300u/min.
Project’s aim:
Several topics possible:
To improve the production line’s Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE):

  • Reduce the number of ejections generated by the vision system (focus on the primary zone ejections)
  • Process documentation Simplification
  • Micro stops removal
  • Format or Process order change impact reduction
  • Cleaning Simplification
  • Microbiology Simplification


Project’s course of action:
These projects will have & main steps:
1. Stablish a basic knowledge of the system, processes and understand how it works.
2. Define the underlining problem on hand.
3. Measure the impact of this problem.
4. Analyse the problem’s possible solutions and its limitations.
5. Implement the designed solutions.
6. Control the solution’s results.
Profile required:
Since these projects will take place on the shop floor (operational level), we are looking for motivated students that have hands on experience and can implement concrete solutions. Moreover, the candidate must be a good team player and have good communication skills.
